Mr. Russell joined Atlas Brown in 2014 and serves as Executive Vice President and head of The Russell Group. He is also responsible for firm development via organic growth and recruitment. His career in the financial services industry began in 1982 at J.J.B. Hilliard, W. L. Lyons, Inc. as a stock broker before transitioning to Merrill Lynch in 1984. At Merrill Lynch, Mr. Russell was as a Senior Vice President for Wealth Management and Certified Financial Manager. He is a Chartered Retirement Plan Specialist® and an Accredited Investment Fiduciary®.
Mr. Russell is a 1976 honors graduate of the University of Kentucky’s School of Business and holds a Bachelor’s in Business Administration. Mr. Russell has served on the boards of Family Health Centers, Wellspring, The Louisville Zoo Foundation Bequest Planning Giving Council, and the Alliance of Community Hospices & Palliative Care Services. Mo Chuisle ("My Pulse" in Gaelic), the Shelby County family farm, is a working cattle and agricultural operation, as well as a retreat he uses to balance his understanding and appreciation of family assets.
